THANK YOU for your partnership with
SOCO Beach Project...
we have a permanent home!
The SoCo Beach Project team and I have been on a journey of exploration and discernment regarding a property. In an article in the local paper, the Port Dover Maple Leaf, Port Dover will triple in size over the next 20 years. And as you know, housing...being located IN Port Dover and living in intentional community...is a key component to this summer experience. The SoCo participants came to love Port Dover, and really appreciated being within walking distance not only of the beach, but also of all major amenities. Being a summer tourist destination, summer jobs are readily available. Conversely this also makes renting for our housing needs expensive and difficult. God is calling us to long-term ministry that impacts young adults summer after summer, while establishing a missional presence within Port Dover. Having a permanent home invests in this long term commitment.
You could be part of that legacy!
And in our search for a property, we found a site that checks all our boxes.
- within walking distance of downtown
- within easy lake access (across the street)
- enough space for 8 - 12 participants
- a separate on-site living space for the missional pastor (Kelly & me)
- large common gathering space
- enough bathrooms
- a spacious kitchen
- good parking (for additional cars)
- lots of outdoor space - 700 ft depth that backs onto a ravine
I celebrate that by God's grace we've had two amazing SoCo summers! In order to secure the long-term viability of this ministry to impact young adults for Christ and his kingdom, we need a building. Walking through the house and on this property, I can picture young adults making meals in the large kitchen while others hang out in the open concept living room, gathering out in the sunlit four seasons room (overlooking the wooded backyard), inviting neighbours to barbeques on the spacious front lawn, having campfires and playing spike ball in the backyard, and sitting out on the front deck watching the various moods of Lake Erie. Truly, this property is an answer to my prayers for the SoCo Beach Project. Will you partner with us?
